    SATELLITE TRANSPONDERS

With the constant rise in demand for connectivity and advanced channel broadcasting, communication satellites are becoming more and more sophisticated and complex. A major part of the development in satellites had been related to the advancements in satellite transponder technology.

A communications satellite transponder is a series of small, chip-sized, interconnected circuits that form a communications channel between the receiving and transmitting antennas.

These circuits are integrated into satellites in order to provide bandwidth and power over designated radio frequencies. The transponder bandwidth and power determine the capacity of information that can be transmitted through the transponder and how big the ground equipment must be in order to receive the signal.

With data compression and multiplexing, several video and audio channels may travel through a single transponder on a single wideband carrier.

When a ground station transmits a radio signal to the satellite, the transponder receives that signal, amplifies it, changes the frequency and transmits the signal as a satellite beam to the ground, whether it is a radio signal, TV or data content.

AMOS-Spacecom’s satellite transponders are provided on a lease basis to various industry verticals, from the media & broadcasting industry, telecom industry, research & development institutions, defense & military departments and government sectors. Our global fleet delivers reliable and secure connectivity, offering a wide range of broadcast, telecommunications and data services supporting multiple applications, from video channel distribution to wired and wireless telecommunications.
