Collection Specialist
Job Summary
Seeking a Finance Collections Representative to oversee collection efforts, communicate with customers, monitor payments, and create strategies for successful debt collections. Requires 2-3 years of experience, data orientation, and excellent communication skills in English
Primary Responsibilities
- Managing the accounts receivable process and ensuring timely and accurate payment collection from customers.
- Communicating with customers and conducting regular follow-ups to ensure payment agreements are met.
- Working with the finance team to reconcile accounts and resolve payment discrepancies.
- Utilizing the company’s priority software to track customer invoices and payment status.
- Analyzing aging reports to identify and prioritize overdue accounts for collection efforts.
- Developing and maintaining strong relationships with customers to facilitate prompt payment and resolve any issues.
- Providing regular reports on accounts receivable status to management.
- Traveling for face-to-face meetings with customers as needed.
- Collaborating with other teams within the organization to streamline the payment collection process.
- Maintaining accurate and organized records of all collection activities.
Requirements
- Background and experience in debt collection – a significant advantage
- Experience with Priority software – a significant advantage
- High level of English – a must
- High level of French – a significant advantage
- Willingness to travel for debt collection meetings with African clients – a must
- Assertiveness, order, accuracy, high work ethic, willingness to learn, and a broad perspective.
