Spacecom Partners with DRS Technologies to Provision Satellite Bandwidth Services for U.S. Department of Defense

Partner Selects FSS Provider Based on Satellite Capacity Performance
and Strategic Location

6 August 2007 — Ramat Gan, Israel — Space-Communication Ltd. (Tel Aviv Stock Exchange: SCC), operator of the AMOS satellite fleet, announced today that it will provide DRS Technologies’ Technical Services Business Segment with Ku-band satellite transponder capacity so that in turn, it can provide the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) with satellite communications capabilities via the Defense Information Systems Network’s (DISN) Satellite Transmission Services—Global (DSTS-G) government contract vehicle.

“This deal validates Spacecom’s strategy to provide enhanced satellite services to U.S. customers not only between the U.S., Europe and the Middle East but also within the greater Europe region,” said David Pollack, President and CEO, Spacecom. “This partnership marks an important milestone in Spacecom’s efforts to provide capacity to the DoD through prominent system integrators like DRS Technologies.”

The DoD uses the AMOS satellite services, to ensure reliable communications in exercises with, as well as between military personnel deployed throughout Europe.

“The custom solution offered by DRS and Spacecom will help the DoD establish and maintain communications for military operations while adhering to the DSTS-G Program’s intent for cost-effective and adaptable commercial satellite bandwidth provisioning,” said Dr. Mitchell B. Rambler, President, DRS Technologies, Technical Services Business Segment, one of a limited number of companies selected as DSTS-G prime vendors. “Together, DRS Technologies and Spacecom offer strategic coverage and high-end cost-effective performance in regions where DoD users have a pressing need for satellite bandwidth.”

The Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) established the indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity DSTS-G contract as a vehicle to accommodate comprehensive and flexible solutions for Government customers/users who have requirements for global fixed satellite service (FSS) bandwidth, as well as related business and enterprise satellite-based services and applications.  The DSTS-G contract supports fixed, transportable and mobile user terminals.

Under the agreement, Spacecom will provide transponder use over Europe for one base year, with an option for three, one-year extensions through its relationship with DRS.
