Spacecom to Bolster Global Satellite Offering with 2007 Launch of New Ka- and Ku-Band Capable Satellite

AMOS-3 Capacity Sales Surpass Fifty Percent Mark

28 November 2006 — Ramat Gan, Israel — Space Communications Ltd. (Tel Aviv Stock Exchange: SCC), the operator of the AMOS satellite fleet, announced that it has sold more than 50 percent of total capacity on its AMOS-3 satellite, slated for launch in the third quarter of 2007.

“Selling half of AMOS-3’s capacity a full year prior to launch and in-orbit testing demonstrates the faith our current and new customers have in Spacecom,” said David Pollack, Spacecom president and CEO. “It also shows the clear need for additional satellite capacity in central eastern Europe and in the Middle East.”

Some existing and new customers on AMOS-1 and AMOS-2, including government users and two DTH platforms on AMOS-1 and AMOS-2, YES in Israel and BOOM in Romania, will transition some of their capacity to AMOS-3 once it becomes operational.

AMOS-3 is expected to come on line following in-orbit tests in the first quarter of 2008. The new satellite will add capacity, expand coverage areas and enhance direct cross-Atlantic links that connect the Mid-East to Europe and the U.S. East Coast. AMOS-3 will complete Spacecom’s satellite constellation at the longitude 4°West “hot-spot,” providing unparalleled satellite redundancy to enable significant back-up capabilities and service reliability.

With the launch of AMOS-3, Spacecom will be even better positioned to take advantage of burgeoning market demand for HDTV and IPTV, as AMOS-3 transponders are capable of delivering a full range of services, including direct-to-home (DTH), video distribution, VSAT networks and broadband Internet.

Additionally, the company boasts the highest G/T levels in the Middle East and Central Eastern Europe, which enable the rapid delivery of large amounts of data to and from a region where capacity for data, video and other kinds of traffic is sorely needed.

“The AMOS constellation’s enhanced reach into the Middle East and Spacecom’s best-in-industry reputation give our customers a responsive, flexible and cost effective suite of satellite solutions,” said Motty Slomovitz, vice president, North America sales and marketing, Spacecom. “This makes us a particularly attractive partner for U.S. system integrators working with commercial and public sector clients, especially the U.S. Department of Defense.”
