MTV Central and Eastern Europe Subsidiaries Select Spacecom’s AMOS Satellites for Broadcast

IBC 2006 Exhibition, Amsterdam, The Netherlands, Hall 1 Booth 419 - 8 September 2006: Spacecom (Tel Aviv Stock Exchange: SCC), the AMOS satellites operator, today announced that it has improved its position with MTV Network’s Central and Eastern European subsidiaries with the signings of MTV Adria and MTV Romania. These channels broadcast over the AMOS satellites located at 4 degrees west to the Adriatic nations Slovenia, Croatia and Bosnia, and to Romania, respectively.

MTV Adria and MTV Romania, members of the most highly recognized music and entertainment network, have each signed five year contracts for the distribution of content to cable head-ends throughout their regions on Spacecom’s AMOS satellites. The addition of these broadcasters further consolidates AMOS’ position as a strategic provider of satellite services throughout the region. Now, more than ever, music fans will be able to enjoy the best in music tastes, broadcast via Spacecom’s AMOS satellites.

MTV Networks Europe’s General Manager, Dean Possenniskie, remarked: “Spacecom’s AMOS satellites provide MTV with a solid and reliable broadcast platform for the years to come. AMOS' strong neighborhood at 4°W meets the needs and requirements of our regional subsidiaries such as MTV Adria and MTV Romania."

According to David Pollack, Spacecom President and CEO, “MTV networks are growing in Central and Eastern Europe and winning their business further strengthens our position in the market. As a satellite services provider for the region, we place great importance in ensuring that our clients receive the best services possible. Working with members of MTV networks brings added international recognition to our brand and services.”

The AMOS-1 and AMOS-2 satellite, co-located at 4°W, create the AMOS platform. They enable Spacecom to provide fully backed-up services with built-in redundancy. This significant capability makes Spacecom an attractive business partner to Direct-To-Home (DTH) platforms and digital TV broadcasters in Central and Eastern Europe.
